Bell Collaborates With WWF

I was browsing the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) website (www.wwf.ca) earlier on, and discovered this article on their front page:

If you have a used mobile phone, you can now return it to any Bell store across the country. Bell will donate $1.00 from the return of each used mobile phone to WWF-Canada's climate change conservation efforts. Returned mobile phones will be reused or recycled, reducing the accumulation of e-waste in landfills, the fastest growing form of waste in the country.

Where can I return my used mobile phone? You can return used mobile phones from all manufacturers to any Bell store. You can also ship your phone by Canada Post, free of charge. Accessories, batteries and personal digital assistants are also accepted. For more details on how to do this, please visit: www.bell.ca/takeback.

What will Bell do with the donated phones? About half of the phones will be refurbished and reused and the remaining phones will be recycled in Canada in compliance with Canadian regulations. Approximately 96 per cent of a mobile phone's weight is recyclable. The only current waste component is the rubber keypad, although ways to recycle it are being explored. Recycled mobile phone components are used to create a number of different items, such as plastic lumber.

Does it really make a difference if I return my phone? YES! In Canada, e-waste is now the fastest growing segment of solid waste. Bell has collected 232,000 phones since 2003, diverting 33 metric tons from landfill.

Moreover by simply returning your used mobile phone you are contributing $1.00 to WWF-Canada. Your donation will be helping WWF-Canada, the global conservation organization, to help fight climate change.

What happens to the personal information stored on my phone? WWF-Canada and Bell are both committed to ensuring the privacy of the people who donate their mobile phones. All data is deleted from returned phones.

Right-o. Let's recap the events of the day.

Some of you went to the Skills Canada convention (or whatever it was). If you're in any of my classes, you missed a whole lot of nothing. Especially in english, because we just read more from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', then watched some of the movie. Perhaps the most disturbing parts. I can't see how that's appropriate for our agegroup, even if we are 14 and 15, (some I'm betting are older than that, even).

So, that was the only event of the day, but whatever. That doesn't matter.

Right now I am SO lazy. It's hard to even type. But I'll write some random fluff to please people. Actually, I think that your amusement could come from other places. If you're REALLY bored, then you can go to www.bored.com. That's apparently a very good site for amusement. Or, you can go to http://www.virtual-bubblewrap.com/popnow.html. It's always fun to pop virtual bubbles.

Sunday Night

OK. Just got back from a long, dragged out walk with parents & Buster. It wasn't the most exciting experience, but it'll have to suffice for the day.

I think that Sundays go down in the record books as boring days. As I can recall, the pioneers used to spend their Sundays reading the bible, or playing with Noah's Ark sets. NOT my idea of fun.

Of course, my version of fun is more than likely COMPLETELY different than yours, so email me ideas of things that you consider fun. I'll post them tomorrow, or whenever I get around to doing it :P

MSN has got to be one of the WORST programs that the world could have invented. Bad for cyber-bullies, and bad for the well-being of the human race. Why? I really don't know. But that doesn't matter. The point is that it SUCKS OUT LOUD. But I still use it, so I guess I really shouldn't be complaining. Send me your views on MSN, though I'm sure that most of you will more than likely say that it's your life... (hehe)

I tried once more to fix the horizontal scrollbar, but it didn't work. That being said, please bear with it. Again, I love this layout far too much to part with it, but all the same, I know that people get really pissed off at stuff like that... Us being the 'impatient generation'. ;D

I'M BAAAAAAAAACK!

Yeah, it's been a long time. Seeing as Blogger began to get stupid, I tried moving everything over, but that just didn't want to work, SO, that's why I've come back. You may notice that all the archives are gone. Yes, G-O-N-E, gone. For some reason, when I came back to recollect my Blogger account, everything had disappeared, (even my account). So here we are, starting fresh. The layout was, sadly, not made by me, but by someone on www.blogskins.com. Very talented people! I believe that it was the Skin of the Day yesterday, which is how I found it. As soon as I saw the name of the main image, I had to use it. It's 'ilovebeef*numbers*.jpg'. I thought of Natalie as soon as I saw it, because I remembered our conversations on 'Beefed Pork' or 'Porked Beef'.

Note to Natalie:
Your kids are going to have some SERIOUS issues in school. Whether it be mentally-they get confused as to who they are when they get older, or physically- bullies will hunt them down. Imagine the name-calling!

Anywho, dinner's almost ready, so I should be getting to that. For now, I still have some junk to fix aroundabout, but don't wait up for me, 'cause God only knows how long that will take.
